Conversion of PSD text layers into CSS text
Those, who are using automatic Psd to Html conversion service for a long time have already noted that Photoshop text layers are now converted into HTML text in a different way. In the past, text style of the first letter of a Photoshop text layer was used for all the converted layer's text. Now, all the text styles are extracted form the Photoshop text layer. Thus, you do not need anymore to divide your text layers into text layers with similar text style. Creating web sites has become easier.
Moreover, all the underlined texts are now converted into XHTML hyperlinks automatically by PSD to CSS conversion service. So, if you would like your text to be converted into a hyperlink you should mark it with a $link$ tag only in case your text has not underlined style. However, if you don't want your underlined text to be converted into a link you can simply mark such a text layer with a $nolink$ tag.
Bugfix: Unable to create web site layout from PSD created in Photoshop CS4
We fixed a rare case when PSD template created in Photoshop CS4 couldn't be converted with the PSD to CSS conversion service into web layout. PSD to XHTML conversion service became more robust.
Bugfix: wrong encoding of the HTML layout’s text
In some rare cases HTML website layout could contain text from Photoshop layer in the wrong encoding. Because of that some symbols could be displayed as squares or hieroglyphs. This error was fixed.
Bugfix: “You tried to upload not a PSD file!”
In some cases when user tried to upload a valid Photoshop design template file from the English version of the site, "You tried to upload not a PSD file!" message was erroneously shown. So, some users could not get a CSS website layout. This error was fixed. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Automatic grouping of Photoshop layers
If you grouped layers in the PSD design template not quite well we will try to do it for you. Service of PSD to CSS Conversion will group layers into columns and rows and turn them into separate div blocks. Grouping is made for layers into each Layer Group in the Photoshop file.
But the fact we are doing an automatic groping of layers does not mean that we are doing it in the best way. We can't predict your intentions for different layers perfectly. That's why we recommend you to group layers in your PSD template by yourself. Unite layers into Layer Groups in the logical way (mark out columns, rows, etc). The better you group layers the better HTML CSS markup you will get. Thus, in the first place that's you who are responsible for the quality of converted HTML and CSS!
Bugfix: non valid XML symbols in Photoshop text layers
An error was fixed which caused PSD to CSS Converter service to fail to convert Photoshop designs that contained non valid XML symbols in text layers. Now such symbols are replaced with spaces.
Automatic grouping of HTML elements into div blocks
We implemented a new feature of Photoshop design to CSS/HTML layout conversion service. Now, we automatically group HTML/CSS elements into div blocks. For example, let you have a 'buttonsBar' group which contains 6 layers for 3 buttons (3 background images and 3 texts). If you have not created a separate group for each button (with a background and a text) then we will do it for you! In created HTML markup there will be a div block 'buttonsBar' which will contain div blocks with 3 buttons (background and text). Please, notice, that we group only those layers that are part of one layer group in the Photoshop.
That does not mean you should neglect layers grouping in a Photoshop design template. The better you group layers the better HTML /CSS markup you will get. That's because we could not always correctly guess how it is better to group you layers. You should at least group the layers of header, footer, content, columns into Photoshop layer groups.
Besides of this a lot of different improvements were made. Markup quality became better. To check out our new features simply upload your design template file.

PSD to HTML Converter usage statistics
User activity statistics shows that a lot of people don't look at the FAQ or read the documentation before they upload a PSD file to convert it into CSS layout. Uploading not well prepared PSD template you can get not correctly prepared CSS layout and not correctly prepared images.
We would like to provide more automation, but as yet it is the aim we crave for. So, please, read a manual and prepare your design templates in a right way.
